Boundaries 101
What are boundaries? Boundaries are setting limits with people and things in our life to allow for our self-care and our protection. For most of us, boundaries are very hard to set. We want to be kind people and help others. Unfortunately, sometimes when we don't set boundaries it can come at a great cost to our personal well-being. Boundaries are about not taking more responsibilities than you can handle. By being able to say "no" to your family member, boss, friend or neighbor. It is knowing what we can handle and not, and setting clear, firm limits when we can't. When we don't set boundaries, we can feel anxiety, frustration, sadness and resentment. Start practicing saying "no" today, take baby steps to protect yourself!
